This time we flew via Germany to get to Japan.
The flight from Edinburgh to Dusseldorf was only an hour and a half. We had a few hours before our flight to Tokyo, so we took the train into the main station and then a subway to the old town. We enjoyed a nice walk by the Rhine and then a quick lunch in a shaded square. Oscar, who loves soup, chose a carrot and ginger soup. While the rest of us shared a plate of currywurst and potatoes.
Quick jaunt back to the airport for our flight to Tokyo.
This time we flew All Nippon Airways, ANA. On our last trip, we flew with JAL (Japan Airlines), so Oscar was so excited to be trying a new airline. The crew were fantastic, we had some nice dinner. We had pre-chosen a 'nana-mono' dinner for Rose - raw vegetables and fruit. It's the first time she has ever eaten anything on a flight. We had plenty of leg room and so we managed to get 7 hours sleep on the 12 hour flight.

Nippon #2
It’s been three years since our last Japanese adventure. We are delighted to be back.
Currently waiting at Tokyo Haneda airport for our flight up to Hokkaido. Rit and the kids are reading while I enjoy the massage chairs next to the Japanese grannies.
We had a great time at Tokyo Disney; we’ll post more on that later.
Scorchio in Tokyo - about 35oC and humid. But at least the forecasted thunderstorms never materialised. And it’ll be much cooler in Hokkaido - we hope!
All Nippon Airways boarding now for Sapporo! We’re off!
